The Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) Meteorology workshop will be held in Miami, FL, U.S.A on March 1&2 of 2018.

The Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science at University of Miami heartily welcomes you to take part in this workshop. The aim is to bring together Meteorologists, Geodesists & InSAR engineers, and explore potential applications of the InSAR technique for Meteorology. The geodesist’s noise (radar travel delays due to variations in the water vapor content of the troposphere) is the atmospheric scientist’s signal. Knowledge on significant atmospheric processes affecting InSAR signals can successfully complement both meteorological and geodetical applications. New upcoming SAR sensors have the potential to lead to a broader use of InSAR in atmospheric sciences, similarly to GPS. We hope the meeting would serve as a resourceful atmospheric science program for ESA’s Sentinel-1 and upcoming NASA-ISRO SAR (NISAR) mission, eventually paving a successful path for establishment of InSAR Meteorology field.

The workshop will feature key note lectures on the present status of InSAR Meteorology applications. For background information on InSAR Meteorology and objectives of the workshop, please review the document here InSARMet2018.

To submit abstract, please click here. Please note the abstract submission deadline has been changed to 26th February 2018.
